How to Get Started?

  • Send a message through Xbox Live to SteeleReign69 that you would like to join CURL.

  • You will receive an invite to join our Xbox Club - Champions United Racing League (CURL).

  • Your gamertag will be added to our Hot-lap Submission form.

 

  • We have 2 races running each week. The cars/divisions/classes required, and the track, will be posted to the "Current Events" section on the main page of the site.

  • Our seasons run for 8 weeks at a time. 

  • Our week starts on Sunday @ 9m EST and ends the following Sunday @ 9pm EST. This gives you an entire week to run hotlaps until you get your best time.

  • Once you are satisfied with your time, click on the "Hot-lap Submission Form" above and fill in the required fields. Click "upload" on the bottom of the form, if on your phone, to take a screenshot.

  • If you take a screenshot on your xbox, please share it to the club page so that we can approve your time. (Please still submit your laptime through the form if you are using your xbox to submit the screenshot.)

  • Your entry will be processed automatically, and your times will instantly appear on the "Leaderboard."

  • We do place drivers into one of three divisions based on skill and performance. You may start in our lowest division and find your way to the top very quickly if deemed appropriate.

  • We try to race online once per week on Sundays, generally around 5pm EST. Online races are NOT a priority for CURL and therefore, may be canceled on occasion due to a low number of participants.

  • Simply bookmark our website on your PC and/or cellphone. Check back often for leaderboard updates, race info, and to check the "Scoring & Standings" for where you stand for the season.

Scoring System

Offline Hot-Lap Scoring Table

 

1st Place = 100 points

2nd = 85 pts

3rd = 80

4th = 75

5th = 70

6th = 65

Etc, etc...

 

* Scoring continues down by 5 points for each place thereafter

 

- All clean laps will rank higher on the leaderboard than all dirty laps

 

- Each event will be scored separately. So, if you finish first in both events you'll earn 200pts.

 

Hot Lap Bonus Points

 

  • 10 points if your time is w/in .499 seconds of the leader

  • 5 points if w/in .500-.999

  • 3 points if w/in 1.0 - 1.5

  • 1 point if w/in 1.501-2.000

 

* These points are awarded after the conclusion of each event.

Online Live Event Scoring Table

 

1st Place = 50 pts

2nd = 48

3rd = 46

4th = 44

5th = 42

6th = 40

Etc, etc...

 

* Scoring continues down by 2 points for each place thereafter

 

Online Event Bonus Points

 

  • 5 points for fastest clean lap

  • 3 points for 2nd fastest

  • 1 point for 3rd fastest

 

- As you can see, we give more points for your performance in the Offline Hot Lap events than we do for Online Live races. This league was formed because we want a competitive racing environment without the necessity of trying to get everyone together & online at the same time. With busy schedules, people in multiple time zones, and the fact that some just don't like racing against others online, we want to emphasize hot-lap performance.

 

- Also, we believe that hot-lapping will help everyone become better racers and learn the tracks, which, ultimately, will increase competition levels AND lead to more online event participation.  

 

 

 

 

Division Finish Bonus Points

*For Live Races Only*

 

  • 1st in Division =  .5 multiplier

  • 2nd in Division = .4 multiplier

  • 3rd in Division =  .3 multiplier

 

  • The idea is to give a bonus based on your finish in live races against ONLY those in your division.

  • Division Bonus Points are awarded based on your finish in the Online Live Events

  • If, in the Live Event you finish first among those in your division you will receive a .5 x your points awarded for your finish in that race, for example:

 

- In the Live Event, you finish in 5th overall which earns you 42 points based on our Live Event Scoring Table.

- Despite a 5th overall finish, you are first among racers in your division.

- Your bonus will be 21(.5x42)

- Your overall score for that race will be 63 (42+21)

- If, however, you finished 2nd in your division, your Division Bonus would be .4x42, which is 16.8. We round that off to 17, for a total of 59 points (42+17) for the race.
